You also have kindergarten boarding schools for the children aging 2 to 5 years. The children are molded to become an independent human being. The children above 13 are a part of senior boarding school.

Sending a child to boarding schools causes a long term separation from home and parents. The separation can be from 2 to 13 years. It is entirely the wish of the parents and the child himself to choose a period of stay in the boarding school. Always remember that a long period of separation gives rise to a phenomenon called third culture kid. They are the kids who develop a different culture by staying away from their home. These children may take several months or even years to adjust to their home after coming back from the boarding school.

Make it a point that the boarding school you select is not much away from the home. This is important so that the child and parents can have the regular meetings. Also it is easy for the kids to come back home during vacations.

The boarding schools have specified rooms for each and every activity to be performed at a particular time. The predefined rules or instructions have to be followed religiously by the students. Any failure attracts heavy punishments. While selecting a boarding school make sure that the infrastructure of the school is well-developed. The school must have different halls for various activities. Pay special attention to the dormitory.

Dormitory is that section inside the school premises where students share residential quarters. Confirm that the student is provided with a sufficient sleeping space, window and floor area.

The central educational institutions of several nations have certain guidelines to be followed by the boarding schools. Do not compromise on these guidelines at all. And look for a boarding school that can provide impart good education and morals along.

Keeping these important things in mind, you can choose the best boarding school for your child. And this would certainly help him develop into a complete individual.
